Kay has provided consulting services to Fortune 500 executives for the past twenty years, beginning in the Chicago-area and growing to nationally. Her primary focus has been selling large projects and as a result was involved in assessing and staffing the leadership for these efforts.
For over ten years Kay was a successful sales executive for two large integrators, Cap Gemini America (now CGEY) and Keane, Inc. For several years prior to starting the Evanston Group, she was the director for a project-based niche consulting firm where she worked with the owners and practice managers to develop IT solutions and hire senior leadership.
Kay began to see an opportunity in the industry. Many firms provided staff augmentation by subcontracting lower-level IT talent (programming, data entry, etc.). At the leadership end, the large integrators and boutique solution firms provided management consultants as part of outsourced projects. However, no one was focused on marketing the senior- level, independent management consultant on a one-at-a-time or small team basis.
In early 1999, Kay turned down a job offer from a Big Six consulting firm and, along with her partner (and husband) Michael, founded The Evanston Group, Inc. (TEG) Her vision was to become an effective broker for the best independent business and leadership talent in the industry.
After more than a decade serving a diverse client base, Kay realized that TEG was bringing the most value to our Pharmaceutical and Medical Device clients and shifted the company’s focus to serve the Life Sciences industry, exclusively.
Owner & Co-Founder
Prior to founding the Evanston Group in early 1999, Michael had ten years of corporate management experience followed by fourteen years in the not-for-profit sector. In these engagements, he developed his skills in operations, employee development, and management.
Michael played a major role as co-founder of the Evanston Group, establishing a vision of excellence. He has been a leader in developing operational processes and standards that enable the company to provide high-quality service to clients and consultants.
Michael currently contributes to strategic company decisions.
Senior Vice President, Sales & Recruiting
Sandra has 25+ years of Consulting sales and management experience. Before joining the Evanston Group in 2002 she was Vice President, North American Sales at Cambridge Technology Partners managing a 75- person sales organization and began her Consulting sales career at Cap Gemini America. A graduate of John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management.
Sandra is a Senior Vice President with The Evanston Group, member of the Leadership Team and currently manages the recruiting organization.
Senior Vice President, Finance & Strategy
Tamara brings a broad business and information systems background to her leadership at the Evanston Group where she has overseen the company’s Finance and Operations since 2005. Tamara began her career as a Systems Engineer with IBM and was promoted through a number of roles, working as an Advisory Marketing Representative and Systems Engineer with the company in Chicago, St. Louis, and Dayton.
Tamara has volunteered and worked in the Evanston community for over 20 years and is an active community member who has served as Treasurer and then President of a notable community organization. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a Computer and Information Science degree, Tamara also holds a post-baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Northwestern University.
